Lexi's Story...
My name is Lexi and I am an adorable chubby yet petite Golden Retriever. I came all the way from North Carolina. I am a friendly, southern girl looking for a new home. My family had to give me up because I was not getting along with the "yappy dogs" in the house. Being 7 years old and being barked at all the time, a girl can only take so much. I do however get along with cats (my foster cat thinks I am a cat bed) and I love children. I am house trained, can be trusted in my house without a crate. I am healthy for a senior girl too! So if you are looking for a petite, SWEET and adorable chubby little girl, ask for me Lexi.

If interested adopting in Lexi please visit our website at .http://www.adoptagoldenknoxville.org/new_england.html. If all that looks good, please move forward and fill out an application on our Adopt A Golden page.

NOTE: Adopt A Golden Knoxville rescue doesn't have an actual shelter building in your area. These dogs are fostered in private homes in East Tennessee. Therefore, it is not possible to meet the dogs and pups prior to their adoption. They are brought up north on a USDA transport

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lexi, a Windam Golden Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever for sale in Windam, or seeking a Golden Retriever dog from a breeder in Windam.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Windam already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Windam breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever breeders who help with Golden Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Windam paves the way for another one to be saved.
