My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dusty is about 10 months old now - weighing in around 50 pounds. At this point we don’t think he will be a really large dog but probably more of a medium sized gsd. This dog has a big personality and has lots of play and energy in him.

Dusty is now living in a foster home in the country with 2 other shepherds and lots of cats. He shows strong interest in the cats and will chase if they run. Based on this, we are not sure if he is suitable for a home with cats. His foster mom is still working with him so this speculation could change in time.

This is a very people-oriented pup, trainable, but a handful!

Dusty will benefit most from a home that can give him lots of exercise, take him to obedience class, and has puppy patience. They will be richly rewarded with a fun, confident, and devoted best friend.

While in foster care, he has also been learning some commands... sit, down, fetch, and come. He walks on a leash but gets oh, so excited around other dogs, so he’s a work-in-progress. His foster mom has been taking him out on walks with other dogs and meeting people to socialize him.

Dusty came to us from the animal shelter so we don’t know much about his past except that his owner turned him in because he no longer had time for him.

This dog is leash trained, crate trained, neutered, up to date on shots and HW negative. Adoption application, home visit, and $300 adoption fee are required. Please read our adoption requirements on our home page.

After reviewing GSRCA’s adoption process, please fill out the application completely. This is the first step in our adoption process. No adoption will be considered or discussed until the application has been received.
