Mitchell's Story...
Puppy Love!

Mitchell (along with Dusty) came to us from the animal shelter. His owner turned him in because he no longer had time for him. Mitchell is about 5 months old. He is a happy, playful, intelligent puppy. While Mitchell is not timid he shows thoughtfulness before charging into the unknown – he’s a smart boy. He loves people, gets along with other dogs.

The one “lazy” ear is the result of damage caused by another dog prior to coming into rescue. We’ve seen him pop it up at times. Mitchell is healthy. He has a great personality and will become a wonderful companion.

This dog is leash trained, crate trained, neutered, up to date on shots and HW negative. Adoption application, home visit, and $300 adoption fee are required. Please read our adoption requirements on our home page.

After reviewing GSRCA’s adoption process, please fill out the application completely. This is the first step in our adoption process. No adoption will be considered or discussed until the application has been received.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mitchell, a Pike Road German Shepherd Dog puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Pike Road, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog puppy from a breeder in Pike Road.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Pike Road already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Pike Road breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Pike Road paves the way for another one to be saved.
