Hogan's Story...
Hogan is a male Shepherd/Aussie mix who will be ready for adoption soon. He was turned into the shelter with a broken leg, but the vet fixed him up and he no longer wears a cast. Hogan is crate trained and mostly house trained. He quickly picked up basic commands like sit, lay, and come. He is a sweet boy who loves to play with other dogs. Hogan is a medium sized dog at 45 - 50 lbs. Neutered, micro-chipped and all vaccines up to date.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Hogan, a Homewood Australian Shepherd dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Shepherd for sale in Homewood, or seeking a Australian Shepherd dog from a breeder in Homewood.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Homewood already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Homewood breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Shepherd breeders who help with Australian Shepherd rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Homewood paves the way for another one to be saved.
