My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

SMART AND AFFECTIONATE!
Brownie was dropped off to us by her owner who was having shoulder surgery and
could not care for her anymore so we took this gorgeous girl in and have learned
a lot about her in the short time she has been at the shelter. She does not
like the chaos and noise of the shelter (and who can blame her) so we have her
in our unique "chill-out" program where well-mannered dogs like Miss Brownie
spend several hours/day enjoying the quiet and calm of a volunteers car or our
lobby. Brownie loves to just hang out and is NOT a high energy dog who needs
to go-go all the time! She has taken to all the humans who have met her and
will lean in for affection and even when let loose in out fenced in play yard,
she often chooses to curl up next to one of our trainers or volunteers for some
love instead of running zoomies like some of our other dogs. If you watch her
video, you will even see her just laying on our trainer's lap, content as can be
despite all the activity going on around her. Although we were told she had a
canine walking buddy, she has not been receptive to meeting any of the dogs at
the shelter so we would like to place her as an only dog so she can really
thrive and feel comfortable in her home. She has demonstrated a fantastic
ability to learn any trick and any game we present to her and we use this
intelligence to keep her engaged each day to off set the stress she feels when
kept in her kennel for long periods. She is voted our smartest dog at the
shelter right now because of how quickly she responds to basic agility training
exercises. She can get excited when playing with her toys and can get a little
bit mouthy so for this reason, we feel she should be placed with older kids or
dog savvy kids who understand how dogs play. We KNOW Brownie will make
someone a wonderful and soulful companion so please come down to meet her and
give her a chance to be back in a safe and secure home.
