Nana's Story...
Hola, como esta! I’m a gentle goofy girl named Nana. I’m an interesting lady. My friends
here believe that I’m a Golden Retriever/Spanish Mastiff mix. I think I’m around 2 or so,
but I still act like a pup and I’m probably going to fill out a bit. You all know how
great Goldens are, but let me tell you what the good ol’ encyclopedia has to say about my
Spanish Mastiff heritage: “Gentle with other animals-even cats-and loving to his/her
owners. He/she enjoys being with a family and doing a job for them. This dog is easily
satisfied with minimal exercise and grooming.” Sounds pretty good eh! And please, don’t
get me wrong, I LOVE to play! I think quite highly of other dogs and cats seem like they
could be my friends too. I think I would do just fine in a home with children due to my
gentle nature, but since I am a bit shy right now I would like to meet some of them before
I decide for sure. I would like to go on long walks, accompany you to the dog park or the
coffee shop, and…… I LOVE car rides! So if you need a partner to ride along on those long
tedious days of errand running, I’m your girl!!! 2 years old- 73lbs. My adoption fee is
$160 and includes; spay, microchip, 1 month pet health insurance, free vet exam (SE
Portland/Milwaukie area), 5 week training class, leash/collar, toy & treat packet, food

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Nana, a Portland Golden Retriever/Mastiff dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever/Mastiff for sale in Portland, or seeking a Golden Retriever/Mastiff dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever/Mastiff breeders who help with Golden Retriever/Mastiff rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
