Alfie's Story...
Alfie is a very sweet, friendly and handsome boy! His fur is sooooo soft, you will want to pet him all day and night :) He gets along with other chinchillas, so it would be great if he could have a buddy! Chinchillas are herd animals, and like the company. He looks like a white mosaic, which is pretty rare. This special little guy is ready for his forever home....could it be with you?
Chinchillas require extensive exercise. Their teeth need to be worn down, as they grow continuously and can prevent them from eating if they become overgrown. Pumice stone, chew toys, and birch, willow, apple, manzanita or kiln-dried pine woods are all safe for chinchillas to chew. A high quality, hay-based pellet and a constant supply of loose timothy hay will meet all of their dietary needs. Chinchillas' very sensitive gastrointestinal tracts can be easily disrupted, so a healthy diet is important. Remember adoption is a commitment for the lifetime of your companion; chinchillas could live 15 years or more!!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Alfie, a Baltimore Chinchilla was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chinchilla for sale in Baltimore, or seeking a Chinchilla from a breeder in Baltimore.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Baltimore already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Baltimore breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chinchilla breeders who help with Chinchilla rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Baltimore paves the way for another one to be saved.
