Here is what else his foster family had to say:
Ralph has never met a human or dog he has not liked. He enjoys playing with any shape or sized dog, and as long as the person gives him an ear scratch, he loves them. I am pleased to say he is friendly with horses, cows and cats. Also, He has lost a fair bit of weight, is much more active, and able to enjoy much longer walks now. Everyone here adores him and he is doing well. He has never once made a move of aggression.
Ralph is a gentleman in the house. He does not chew, or counter surf. He is a typical dog, and will eat food that is at his height. He knows basic commands (sit, stay, come, no) and can even "sit pretty". Ralph has not been placed in a crate, as he is a perfect gentleman in the house. Ralph walks well on a leash, however, in true beagle style, he will follow his nose. As with any hound breed, Ralph should not be off leash unless in an enclosed area. Ralph rides well in the car.
Ralph is currently overweight but has been steadily getting in shape with a good diet. He enjoys weekly baths and loves to have his ears and eyes cleaned.

Ralph has been a joy to foster. He has been a wonderful family addition, and I will be sad to see him find a new home. He has filled our house with laughter and love, with his quirky antics and lovable demeanor.
