Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Missy is an Airedale terrier mix that came from a rural South Carolina animal shelter. Missy had been thrown from a car, and turned in at the shelter. She waited weeks for a forever home, but due to a high population of dogs in that area there just aren’t enough adopting families to go around. Missy was pulled by our rescue and brought to Maryland in the hopes that she, too, can find her forever family. She is currently residing with a foster family in the Annapolis area.
Missy was estimated at the shelter to be 2 years old, but the foster family feels she is still a puppy and that she’s more around 9-12 months old. She’s medium size at 47 lbs. Missy is housebroken but still full of puppy playfulness, so she is crate trained. She is cat friendly, great with kids and wonderful with other dogs, so she would be excellent for a two-dog family.
Missy loves playing with the foster family’s kids and two other dogs. She carries dog toys around, rolls on her back for belly rubs and lays up against you looking for a scratch on the ears. She’s super affectionate, and sleeps curled up with the foster family’s daughter every night. Missy’s puppy playfulness can be seen best when she is running in the backyard, diving into a pile a leaves and rolling around (she loved leaf clean-up day!), and she also LOVES swimming in the water. She’s constantly bugging her foster family’s dog to play, and they run, roll and yip at each other. She’s a super sweet, affectionate, playful dog that just wants to please you.
Missy would love an active family who will take her places. As with any rescue dog and puppy, Missy needs basic training so we are looking for a family who will be her leader and teach her manners. Missy is fully spayed and vetted, and is ready for adoption!
Missy is looking forward to being an indoor dog in a loving family where she is accepted as a family member. Interested adopters please send an email to MJsAnimalSanctuary@gmail.com to request an adoption application. Adopters subject to reference checks, vet reference, meet and greet, and home visit.
