My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Woof!!!! My name is Polo and I’m a 10 week old male Pit/Lab mix puppy. When I was a few weeks old and all of 5 lbs., I made the very brave decision to relocate to NYC from North Carolina to increase my odds of finding a new home. Let me tell you some more about me to see if we’d be a good match ….

First, I’m uber handsome with a short, shiny auburn coat, ice green eyes and the most adorable ears that are SO perky. Everyone keeps asking how big I’m going to get and while no one can say for sure given that I’m a mixed breed puppy, the family who takes me home should expect that I will become a big (50+ lbs), active and athletic boy.

Second, I’m uber charming. I love meeting new people and can work any room or crowd. Like most puppies, I can sometimes be a bit shy, sassy and mouthy, but at my age that’s not only normal and expected, but an integral part of my charm.

Third, I love meeting and playing with other dogs. Any size, age, gender – bring them on! At this point, my best friends are a 2 year old female Rhodesian Ridgeback and a houseful of adult Chihuahuas. I’ve never met a cat, but I could most likely learn to live with one given how young I am.

Fourth, I’m SMART. I’m doing well with my obedience training and am very food motivated. Right now, I’m working really hard to learn basic obedience commands, good 4 legged manners, housetraining and how to walk on a leash outside. While I know that I will master all of this in time, I’ll need a lot of help and patience from new family in order to do so. And what puppy wouldn't?

So, in short, I’m the whole puppy package - looks, charm and brains to boot.
