Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Dutch is the quintessential German Shepherd: highly intelligent, loyal and protective. He loves people once he meets them, but his initial response is to be protective of his territory, which makes him a terrific watchdog. No stranger would dare enter your yard or house uninvited!
Dutch knows a few basic commands, such as âSitâ%9D, and is crate-trained, but needs continued obedience training and would probably excel at agility training. He loves to fetch and never tires of playing ball. He has a very strong prey drive and goes after anything small that runs, so would not be a good fit for someone with cats or small dogs, though he seems to get along well with other large dogs.
Dutch was rescued from a rural Alabama shelter with a broken front leg. It was mending already on it's own and in good alignment therefore no surgery was required. He is approximately 2 years of age.
This dog is crate trained, spayed or neutered, up to date on shots and HW negative. Adoption application, home visit, and $300 adoption fee are required. Please read our adoption requirements on our home page. Many of your questions can be answered here. We welcome your phone call, but for a faster response, it is best to email us your specific questions. After reviewing GSRCA’s adoption process, please fill out the application completely. INCOMPLETE APPLICATIONS CANNOT BE PROCESSED! This is the first step in our adoption process. No adoption will be considered or discussed until the application has been received.
