My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I came into this world full of joy and hope for a wonderful life, sadly that was not in the cards for me because at 10-12 weeks of age I was seen being tossed into a field where it is believed I may have suffered the facture in my thigh growth plate or maybe it happened before – I am not sure and I was so young and hungry and scared it is hard to remember. A kind CAA volunteer heard through friends what they had witnessed and rushed out to save me, I was hurried to the vet. It was really hard for the vet to tell my exact age because I was underweight from being malnourished and dehydrated
I have been in foster care since then because I was under the watchful eye of a vet I fondly refer to as Dr W. He has helped me get strong and healthy. He had hoped that with time the fracture would fuse together but as I got older I saw the sadness and worry in Dr W’s eyes with each visit – it was becoming apparent that I would have to lose my leg.
Finally the decision was made and on April 9th my foster mummy dropped me off at the clinic, I was so used to being there I thought it was just like my second home. All of my friends and family waited patiently all day for the news of a successful amputation – finally that word came in late in the afternoon that all went well and by the early evening I was already standing up on three legs ready to start the next chapter of my life.
I have recovered so fast that even my faithful friend Dr W was amazed! So now I think I am ready for my forever home. I do well with stairs but obviously I would prefer as few as possible in my new home. I love to run and walk so would like a friend who will spend time with me because now that I am pain free there really is no stopping me, a back yard would be really awesome because I like to play fetch and I am not really sure I should be visiting dog parks just yet. I absolutely love children but would prefer a home without them, see they make me very happy and very excited so I get a little too anxious when they are around me all day every day so weekend visits are fine but I would be happier in my day to day life without them sharing my home. I love playful kitties they have always been my bestest friends from the time I was a baby and I like the company of other doggies because now that I can run and play I would love a friend.
I really have a lot of catching up to do in my life and I am so very ready to experience it all with my new family!
I hope my new family is reading this right now because I cannot wait to meet you … I have been waiting so very long and have traveled a hard road to find you and every day I hope that today you will come and take me home! If you think you can love me forever as a three legged doggie then please email the volunteers at CAARescue@gmail.com right away
