Here's what the humans have to say about me:
January 15, 2014, Maple was selected to be one of Friendship's Prison Dogs. She is currently undergoing training at the Grafton Correctional Institute. Maple is being trained in obedience, basic commands, manners and proper leash walking. She will spend approximately 12 weeks at the prison. If you are interested in adopting a prison dog, adoption applications are now being accepted. They can be downloaded at www.friendshipapl.org under ADOPT-FIND A FRIEND. A limited amount of apps will be accepted for each Prison Dog. They must be hand delivered to Friendship. If you have any questions, please contact the shelter at 440-322-4321.
Maple was named because she was found covered in leaves. Someone hit her with their car and left her on the side of the road. They even covered her with leaves so no one could see her. A good Samaritan called the shelter and Director Greg Willey went out to rescue Maple. She's a pretty 2 year old Boxer mix. Maple is not fond of her cage. When she's out, she's the perfect lady. When she's in her cage she is not a happy camper. Maple is a strong girl that wil benefit from the training she is receiving. She'll be a great dog upon her return.
