Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sierra was so fearful as she came into a very high-kill shelter in Kansas. She's a sensitive and very kind girl...and through it all she seemed like an old soul...taking it all in but never resisting or nasty. It just isn't in her nature to be anything but sweet. Sierra, at 1-year old and 10 - 12 lbs represents the sad opportunism that is so present in the breeding of these popular "designer dogs". They're treated so poorly and disrespectfully…and then disposed of when their perceived use is over. Sierra deserves a great life every bit as much as any other living being…she has a wonderful disposition and through it all, still has the desire to love and be loved. She loves to snuggle and show her devotion in so many ways. She tries very hard to show that she's worthy of a permanent family to love and respect her. Her little tail wags hesitantly when she sees a possibility for a pat or any kind gesture. She would be overjoyed if she got gentle attention…it would bring a light to those sad eyes! Farfel's is searching for that special family for this exceptional Havanese (or at least that's what the Kansas vets tell us Sierra is). Sierra is about to get spa treatment for the first time…there won't be a more beautiful girl when she's provided with skin & hair care and great nutrition. Her soft as cotton hair will frame the kind glow in her eyes that speak of a gentle soul. We're searching for a family that wants to spend quality time with this exceptional girl. She would learn from the gentle guidance and time put in of people who love her…she'll return that devotion a million times over once she understands that she can trust. We feel that Sierra would enjoy a retired couple (or individual) or a family with older children who will be gentle and loving toward the very feminine Sierra. A positive reinforcement training class would also be great for bonding between Sierra and her people. It's a new world for this sensitive pup…she'll be so successful with the knowledge that she is loved and chosen to be a member of a very special family. Sierra is a non-shedding girl and will therefore require periodic grooming to bring out the beauty and good health of her amazing coat.
Sierra will be arriving on transport on Saturday 12/7. Applications and inquiries are currently being accepted for this exceptional family companion.
