My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lovely Lita is chronologically older than she acts. At 13 years old, our experienced veterinarian found her to be in excellent health, and her demeanor is that of a much younger dog. There is a lot to be said for sharing your life with a senior - especially THIS senior. Lita is always ready for exploring on walks and hikes, and will go for hours without once losing her enthusiasm for what's around the next bend. Get out the harness and leash and Lita turns into a 5 pound dynamo. On car rides she sits calmly and quietly in her booster seat and watches the scenery. Lita's needs are simple; a loving human(s), nutritious food, blankets for burrowing, and her favorite activity - those daily walks she finds so exciting.

She can live comfortably with dogs (and probably cats), but she is not interested in playing with other animals. Inside the home, all of her affection is directed toward her adult human(s). She bonds quickly and always comes when called. Lita likes to go to her own bed and nap or chew on a bully stick without interference.

As social and friendly as Lita is with those she knows and lives with, she can be uncomfortable around strangers, so she will withdraw to her bed or into the arms of her two-legged buddy. While she isn't a social butterfly, she is a loving, easy-to-care-for companion who needs no discipline. Adopting Lita is like investing in a ticket to the great outdoors. She would love to explore with someone who loves to be outside as much as her. Is that you?
