MINNIE. I am so sad. My loving parents are quite elderly and now have medical problems. It is so tough when you get into your 90's! I am not that old. I am a young at heart 7 year old miniature red smooth dachshund. At the moment I am not as "miniature" as I should be, but I'm willing to go on a diet and lots of walks with you to regain my svelte figure. I am a good dog, tho I have been known to snap at strangers who approach me without being properly introduced. I have good teeth, and am used to having my teeth brushed every day. Please don't leave me in the lurch during this holiday season. Please come meet me and you will be so happy you did. Love Minnie.
Based on 30 years of experience with rescue doxies, we have pretty strict criteria. Do you work from home/stay at home/work part time? Have a securely fenced yard? We do not place same sex in a home and children need to be 10 or older (some exceptions IF the dog is a puppy or the child has been raised with a doxie). We prefer no smokers and a home with no other small animals (ferrets, hamsters, etc) Cats are on a case by case basis depending on the dog. Remember these are rescues, many were surrendered because of these issues.
All our dogs are fully vetted, including all shots, wormer & flea protection, nails trimmed, the works. They'll come with a basket of goodies, food, toys and a custom made harness. The adoption fee to be determined. Fees are necessary to covers the cost to rescue, vet and care for the doggies while in our rescue. It also helps towards the care of other doxies that come with huge vet or dental bills or need extensive behavioral training.
