Roscoe's Story...
Roscoe is a very petite, miniature, tri-color 1 yr old Dachshund/Chihuahua mix weighing only 9 lbs! He was from a litter of 6 and he was the smallest. Roscoe is very timid & quiet at first, but warms up quickly. He is now playing very well with the pack in his foster home, after only a few days. Roscoe sleeps well in the bed at night, is crate trained and very sweet. He needs some help with his potty training, but is coming along nicely. Roscoe does not seem to bark much, just occasionally when playing. He is so funny when he plays & runs! And he walks like a horse, crossing his front feet when he walks. So adorable! And he loves to be in your lap as well…such a very nice little fellow! Come on and meet our Roscoe aka Little Man! Nicknamed him Little Man, as he is so small….

As HAHS now has several adoption locations, please contact Candy or Mark at 816/916-3685 or lelandsable@comcast.net to find out when and where you can meet ROSCOE!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Roscoe, a Overland Park Dachshund/Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund/Chihuahua for sale in Overland Park, or seeking a Dachshund/Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Overland Park.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Overland Park already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Overland Park breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund/Chihuahua breeders who help with Dachshund/Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Overland Park paves the way for another one to be saved.
