Clarke County Animal Shelter's Adoption Process

Clarke County Animal Shelter promotes conversational based adoptions. Each animal here has a different set of requirements for adoptions as no animal is the same. We have a short adoption application, require a adoption counseling session, and then you meet your matches.

Dog adoption fees include spay/neuter, rabies vaccinations, heartworm test, and age appropriate vaccines. The standard fee is $100.00.

Cat adoption fees include spay/neuter, rabies vaccinations, and age appropriate vaccines. The standard fee is $40.00.

In the event an adoption does not work it. It is required that each animal be returned to Clarke County Animal Shelter.

Clarke County Animal Shelter is an open intake government facility serving Clarke County Alabama and its municipalities. We are always looking for new volunteers to help at the facility, with special events, or with transports. Please stop by our shelter to get to know us and the available pets.

Come Meet Clarke County Animal Shelter's Pets

Open adoption hours are from 10:00am-3:00pm Monday-Saturday and 1:00pm-3:00pm on Sundays. We also have off-site adoptions events. Appointments can be made for those with approved applications.
