Additional adoption info
Anyone interested in adopting must be 18 years or older and bring a valid form of ID. If you have any questions regarding an animal available for adoption, they may call the animal control office ahead of time at 530-841-4028. We receive many calls daily, so please leave a message if we cannot answer, and we will return your call as soon as possible.
All dogs and puppies are $40 to adopt and require an additional $40 deposit if unaltered at the time of adoption. The $40 deposit will be refunded once the animal is altered. An additional $10 fee is required for a dog license if the adopter lives in any unincorporated area of Siskiyou County.
All cats and kittens are $20 and require an additional $40 deposit if unaltered at the time of adoption. The $40 deposit will be refunded once the animal is altered.
Once the decision to adopt an animal has been made, an adoption agreement will be signed and payment will be taken. If the adopter lives on a rental property, they must show proof that the landlord allows animals on the property.
