Fredericksburg SPCA's Adoption Process

Our adoption process is easy! No home visits, no reference checks. We have many dogs and cats available for adoption. While we are practicing social distancing due to COVID-19 all of our pets are in foster homes. We are scheduling adoption appointments and you can do the almost all of the adoption process from the comfort of your home. When you find a pet you are interested in adopting, please complete an application at https://fredspca.org/adoption/. Applications are processed in the order that they are received. We encourage you to ask any questions you may have with staff members or volunteers, as our goal is to help you find the right match for your family. The Fredericksburg SPCA thanks you for considering one of the many animals in need of a new home.

Our fees are as follows:
Adult dogs: $175
Puppies: $300 (age 6 months and under)
Adult cats: $100
Kittens: $150 (age 9 months and under) Adopt one kitten and adoption fee on the second kitten is waived!

Senior animals (7+ years) & special needs animals: $60

Our adoption fee includes spay/neuter surgery, microchip & registration, basic vaccines, rabies vaccine (4 months and older), age-appropriate blood testing (6 months and older), flea/tick/heartworm treatments, and deworming.
As a non-profit organization, our adoption fees help us to offset some of these costs.

Note - you must be 18 years or older to adopt.
