Rescue FAQs

Our mission is to reduce the number of homeless pets through adoption events & area locations and provide medical care for shelter pets in need. All of our adoptable pets come from Mesa County Animal Services.

Grand Rivers Humane is a non-profit 501(c)(3) established in 2005. Since then, we have found homes for over 10,000 pets. Your donations are greatly appreciated.

Adoption steps

    1. Submit an application directly on our website.

    1. We will follow up on your application with any questions and to tell you more about the animal you are interested in
  3. Approve Application
    1. The application is completed and approved
  4. Meet the Pet
    1. Meet the animal and we will do meet and greets with any other pets in the home if applicable
  5. Sign Adoption Contract
  6. Pay Fee
  7. Take the Pet Home
    1. Welcome home!

Start by filling out the adoption application on our website. Once we approve it, you can meet the animal and if everything is a good fit, you will complete the contract, pay and take the animal home! We are always here to support you after the adoption with any questions or concerns.
