Grand Rivers Humane Society's Adoption Process

1. Meet the Pet

Meet the dog/puppy at weekly adoption events (every Saturday) at the Grand Junction Petco or PetSmart. Meet cat/kitten at area locations.

2. Interview

Interview to see if the pet will be a good fit into the home.

3. Approve Application

The application is completed and approved.

4. Sign Adoption Contract

5. Take the Pet Home

Meet the pet. A short interview will be conducted. Fill out an adoption application and contract and you can take your new companion home. We are always here to support you after the adoption with any questions or concerns.

Our mission is to reduce the number of homeless pets through adoption events & area locations and provide medical care for shelter pets in need. All of our adoptable pets come from Mesa County Animal Services.

Grand Rivers Humane is a non-profit 501(c)(3) established in 2005. Your donations are greatly appreciated.

Come Meet Grand Rivers Humane Society's Pets

We hold adoption events every Saturday from 11:30 to 3 at the Grand Junction Petco or PetSmart for dogs and puppies. Cats and kittens can be seen anytime at the Grand Rivers Humane Save-a-Pet Thrift Store, Petco, PetSmart and J&M Aquatics. All of our adoptable pets come from Mesa County Animal Services.
