About Kat Vet

I’m a veterinarian, a veteran, and I love cats and volunteering. I’m a full time associate veterinarian and am actively involved in the Ponchatoula community.

We have a great need in Tangipahoa Parish to reduce the overpopulation of unwanted cats and dogs. The most effective and proven method is to SPAY AND NEUTER. If not already done, I encourage everyone to spay and neuter your pets immediately. Tangi Animal Friends (tangianimalfriends.net), Northshore Humane Society (northshorehumane.org), and Baton Rouge Spay Neuter (brsn.org) are programs already in place to provide assistance to those that may struggle financially.

The next step is to ADOPT, NOT SHOP. In my opinion, until we are no longer euthanizing countless innocent cats and dogs in our parish, no one should purchase (or breed) a dog or cat. This might offend some people and I encourage those people to volunteer at Tangipahoa Parish Animal Control for just one day.

Lastly, two unsolicited pieces of advice:
1. HEARTWORM PREVENTION - every month, the entire life of your pet.
2. ADOPT A KITTEN ;)

Thanks!
