1 - 20 of 23 Adoptable Pets at This Shelter
We have a two-step adoption process, which includes submitting an application that is vetted and presented to our Board of Directors (for approval or rejection) and also having a home check done. This process takes anywhere from a few days to about a week. Some people choose to complete the application process prior to coming to an adoption event to meet the dogs, that way, if they are preapproved and if the dog is fully vetted – they can adopt the same day and start the 1-week trial. Alternatively, some people submit an application and are approved between adoption events and - then meet the dog(s) and are able to adopt during the week, if they so desire. We do not do meet and greets during the week unless you are an approved adopter. There are a couple of caveats for out of city (Dallas)/County (Collin)/state (Texas) adoptions, (1) the adopter and or a close friend or family member (i.e. - parent, child, spouse) needs to come meet the dog in person (2) the adopter or a or a close friend or family member (i.e. - parent, child, spouse) needs to transport the dog home themselves, i.e. - we don’t provide transportation and we don’t allow a hired transport to get the dog from us to you and (3) if the adoption doesn’t work out – the adopter or a friend or close family member (i.e. - parent, child, spouse) needs to bring the dog back to us in person within five miles of where you adopted the dog. If this is not done, the adopter will pay a penalty fee of $500.If you're approved but can't take possession of the dog(s) within a week of receiving your approval email, we will board the dog(s) at a rate of $5/day.
Our vision and our primary mission is to create a better world through kindness to animals. We believe this enriches the lives of both the animals and people. We are dedicated to focusing on rescuing abandoned, abused, homeless, neglected and or unwanted dogs of all sizes and breeds, and then placing them into responsible, loving, forever homes. We rescue and then provide food, shelter, love and, not only routine, but any necessary medical/vet care to dogs in need. We want to help create a community where all animals’ lives matter. Our guiding principal is the Golden Rule. We want to see the end of animal shelter killing and the unnecessary suffering from overpopulation and unwanted animals. To this end, we heavily promote spaying and neutering.
We’re at the Plano PetSmart, 6204 West Park Boulevard, Saturdays and Sundays from 1-5
