Rescue FAQs

Ryla's Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in California. We are composed of a network of fosters and volunteers who collaborate to rescue shelter dogs and find them loving homes. Founded in 2019, Ryla's Rescue helps to meet the never-ending demand of assisting homeless pets. Through gracious donations, loving fosters, and merchandise purchases we are able to change the lives' of your next best friend. As a foster-based rescue, we focus on providing all of our pups with secure and caring homes while they wait for their forever families. Ryla's Rescue was founded by dog-loving individuals in 2019 at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo. Through their experiences of adopting, fostering, and volunteering with local shelters, the founders decided to rescue as many dogs as possible. Thus, Ryla's Rescue was formed. Why the "Ryla's Rescue" name? The name came to be through the combination of our board member's dogs' names - Ryker and Mila. These two best buds served as the inspiration for our rescue, so we had to give the credit where it was earned!
