Kane County Animal Control oversees rabies registration, protects public safety and ensures the humane care of animals through sheltering, pet placement, education and animal law enforcement.

Additional adoption info

* All adoptions are first-come first-serve to ensure fairness to everyone that adopts from us.
* All adoptions require completion and approval of an Adoption Application.
* You will need a current driver’s license or photo ID to adopt an animal.
* If you are a renter, bring a copy of your lease which indicates you are permitted to own pets at your address.
* If you have owned pets in the past, bring copies of your medical records for previous animals. If you have lost your pets’ medical records, contact your veterinarian for replacement copies.
* Finally, all people who will be living with the animal will have to come in to meet it, and agree to the adoption.
