Refunds/Returns
No matter how careful the Shelter is in attempting to match the right pet with the right family, there will be occasions where animals will be returned to the Shelter. Any animal(s) adopted from KCAC may be returned at any time for the life of the pet.
o If the animal is returned within ten (10) business days of adoption the owner will be refunded the entire adoption fee.
o If the animal is returned after ten (10) business days then there will be no refund of the original adoption fee.
o Adopted animals that have had a transfer of ownership will no longer constitute as an adoption return but may be returned as an owner surrender.
o Adoption returns will be given priority for returning to this facility over owner surrendered animals. KCAC will work with the family surrendering the animals to find the quickest solution for returning.
o Adopters will not be approved to adopt from this facility again if they have every surrendered or returned an animal to Kane County Animal Control.
