Rescue FAQs
Haseya's New beginning Animal Rescue and adoption Center began as a horse only rescue but because dogs and cats were being dumped in the country where the horses were and so many needed homes, we branched out to fostering dogs and cats. In the last 6 months we took over 2 municipal kill shelters in two differnt rural towns and they are now no kill shelters under our manegement. Strays and owner surrendered cats and dogs can be brought to our shelters and then are vetted and put up for adoption.
Acadiana Parishes, Acadia, Evangeline, Iberia, Lafayette , St Martin, St Landry, Vermilion Parish as well as Lake Charles, Baton Rouge, Shreveport and New Orleans areas.
Adoption steps
- Submit Application
- Go online and fill out an adoption application
- Approve Application
- Once our volunteers get the application, vet references will be checked and you will be notified that you are approved or denied
- Visit the Facility and Find a Pet
- Our volunteers will set up a time and place to meet the pet you are interested in
- Sign Adoption Contract
- Once you've decided you'd like to make the pet yours, pay fee and sign papers
- Take the Pet Home
Additional adoption info
If not neutered/spayed then adopter picks up animal after procedure is done. If adopted before spayed or neutered, adopter must take to appt or Haseya’s will reclaim the animal. If adopted pet does not work out in new home, then Haseya's will take the animal back into rescue
