Rescue FAQs

Our goal is to eliminate the euthanasia of companion animals in Galveston County by promoting and providing resources, education, and programs to transform animal welfare in our communities.

What makes us different is we were created to not just help animals, but people too. We realize that animals and people are very much interconnected, and a big part of our organization is outreach.

Adoption steps

  1. Submit Application
    1. Inquire by submitting an application. Applications are online can be found in each pet’s profile on our website (www.lifelinetx.org/adopt)
  2. Interview
    1. Complete a short phone call with an adoption counselor. They will answer any questions you have during this call.
  3. Meet the Pet
    1. If everything still looks great, we will set up a time for you to meet the pet & their foster parent!
  4. Approve Application
  5. Sign Adoption Contract
  6. Pay Fee
  7. Take the Pet Home

Additional adoption info

All of our adoptable animals are in foster homes so an appointment with the foster will be necessary to meet the pet.
