Rescue FAQs

Our organization is run by volunteers who all work full time so we ask that you apply only if you are sure you are ready to adopt a dog. We do not have a shelter - all of our dogs are in foster homes. We have a limited number of dogs fostering in California and these dogs are available for adoption in the East Bay area (between San Francisco and San Jose). We require our dogs be placed within a several hour drive of our foster network. Although we do our best to find a good match between each dog and their adoptive family, on occasion the dog does not turn out to be a good fit. We must be within driving distance to our adopters in the event the adoption does not work out.

We require our dogs be placed within a several hour drive of our CA foster network in the East Bay area (between San Francisco and San Jose). Please fill out our adoption application on our website www.dutchcountryanimalrescue.org. We will be in touch if the dog you applied for is a good fit based on your application.
It is impossible for us to answer all inquiries due to the high volume of email that we receive. However, if you apply for a dog and have not heard back within 3 days, please feel free to email us at adoptions@dutchcountryanimalrescue.org to make sure your application went through OK. We prioritize emails from applicants and adopters.
