Shelter FAQs

Friends of the Horn Lake Animal Shelter is a 501c3 organization working in cooperation with the Horn Lake Municipal Shelter to: -Promote/help HLAS animals and other animals in need that are within the city of Horn Lake, MS. It is the joint goal of HLAS and FOHLAS to substantially reduce the number of adoptable animals that are put to sleep by finding them permanent or foster homes. Adoption Fees-$50 per dog, $30 per cat -includes mandatory spay/neuter and rabies shot. Volunteers are always welcome and needed at the facility to help socialize animals, walk dogs, clean kennels and cat room, wash laundry, and sometimes for special projects/events. Additional adoption info

When visiting the facility to potentially adopt a pet, please tell the staff about your family (children) and any pets you have at home. We try to make sure it's a great match for everyone.
Application submitted on location and interview conducted on-site or over the phone.
If the application is approved, & after mandatory spay/neuter is completed (with rabies shot), the adopter may pay the adoption fee and pick up their new furry family member!
