Paws and Claws Rescue and Resort is a no-kill 501(c)3 animal shelter and rescue, as well as a boarding facility in Hackensack, MN. Our mission is to save, lives, educate youth, and complete families. We Were founded in 2017 and have had over 2300 adoptions to date.
We offer dog and cat adoption, as well as boarding and daycare services by appointment. Paws and Claws also as an onsite groomer.

Adoption steps
- Visit the Facility and Find a PetFind an animal that you fall in love with! Ensure that you've considered the type of pet (breed, age) and your lifestyle.
- Submit ApplicationFill out our Adoption Questionnaire by going to our website. Reference checks will be completed.
- Meet the PetSchedule a meet and greet with pet during shelter business hours.
- Approve ApplicationApplication will be reviewed and approved by staff.
- Sign Adoption ContractAdoption contract will be reviewed with an adoption specialist and signed.
- Pay FeePay/Donate adoption fee.
- Take the Pet HomeTake you new pet home! We always recommended reading through our behavior handouts and setting up an appointment with your vet right away.
