Rescue FAQs

Buckeye Boxer Rescue, Inc. is a small, but growing, group rescuing, rehabilitating and re-homing Boxers throughout the State of Ohio. BBR is comprised of several volunteers working out of their homes. Love of the Boxer breed is what keeps our volunteers going! Our foster dogs are behaviorally and physically assessed by our experienced volunteers. If training is deemed necessary it is done prior to the dog's placement into its permanent home. We want each and every adoption to work! Beyond rescue and adoption, our volunteers welcome the opportunity to educate the general public on responsible pet ownership and care. We strive to keep abreast of the most current information and enjoy the opportunity to 'talk Boxers'! We can always use more volunteers!! If you're interested in helping out, please email us at volunteer@buckeyeboxer.com We do appreciate that not every potential adopter has Boxer dog experience and we'd like to answer any questions you may have. Feel free to email us at info@buckeyeboxer.com Another great source for information is Boxer Dog Planet at http://www.BoxerDogPlanet.com. BDP is an international forum full of Boxer lovers...any question you ask is sure to be answered!
All of Ohio.

Additional adoption info

The following is an outline of our adoption process:

1. Adoption application filled out.
2. A volunteer will approve or deny your application.
3. If approved, your vet references will be checked.
4. A home visit will be scheduled and completed.
5. A meeting of the foster Boxer and potential adopter will take place.
6. When both the adopter and volunteer agree that the placement is a good one, an adoption contract will be completed and signed.
7. An adoption fee of $250 will be collected in most cases (there is always a fee, it may be lowered or raised dependant upon special circumstances)
8. You will pick-up your new Boxer :)

About the application:

The application must be filled out in its entirety. Do not skip any answer. If we delete your application due to incompleteness you will not be notified. If your application is complete, you can expect to hear from a volunteer within 48 hours.

Phone calls will not be returned without an application having been filled out, however, questions via email are always welcome and answered!
