Rescue FAQs
I have been rescuing cocker spaniels since 1989 one cocker at a time. I have pulled them from shelters to get them homes. Helped families when owners of cockers have passed away to get homes, or when’s family were going to turn their cocker over to a shelter.
I do this for cockers because working at shelters years ago I saw so many good dogs euthanized in shelters for reasons like space needed.

Adoption steps
- InterviewCheck references given by adopter
- Home Checkcheck for fenced yards, safe conditions in the home for the dog. Make sure every family member agrees with the adoption of a new family pet
- Sign Adoption ContractI sit down with the owner and go over my hand written contract making sure they agree and they initial each item indicating they agree.
Additional adoption info
I let the new adopter and the family meet the dog and I observe the interaction, making sure it is positive, and the dog is comfortable and doesn’t show any anxiety.
