NJ Low Cost Spay/Neuter Programs You may be eligible to have your pet spayed or neutered at a discounted price at one of the participating veterinary hospitals. The Atlantic County Animal Shelter was developed as a regional response to the needs of local municipalities for an animal control shelter. It opened in October 1995. The Animal Shelter operates with a small staff and volunteers who help handle the care and feeding of the animals. Animals may be adopted by members of the public. The shelter offers educational programs. Schools and organizations are welcome to tour the facility and meet with the staff. Donations of pet food and supplies are greatly appreciated. Our mission is to provide care and compassion, in a healthy environment, to animals while attempting to reunite them with their owners, to educate the public on responsible ownership, and to facilitate successful pet adoptions while respecting and striving to improve the quality of life for both pets and people.

Additional adoption info

The following fees currently apply to the adoption of animals.

Puppies and Dogs: $110.00 The adoption fee includes mandatory sterilization, age appropriate vaccinations, diagnostic testing, a microchip and a free veterinary consultation.

Kitten and Cats: $85.00 each additional Feline adoption $42.50 The adoption fee includes mandatory sterilization, age appropriate vaccinations, diagnostic testing, a microchip and a free veterinary consultation.

The following are also available for an additional fee:

Home Again Microchip: $30.00

I.D. Tag: $6.00
