Additional adoption info
If you wish to adopt an animal from the Animal Shelter you will need to be at least 18 years of age, have a verifiable identification, and you will also need to fill out an adoption application. After you submit your application, if you don't hear from us within a couple days, please contact us at 315-343-1803 to be sure we received it!
To adopt a cat, the cost is anywhere between $70.00 and $105.00. For dogs, the cost ranges anywhere between $100.00 and $160.00.
All animals are given necessary vaccines, dewormed, given flea medicine if necessary, and spayed or neutered prior to adoption. Cats are tested for Feline Leukemia and FIV. Dogs are tested for heartworm. The only exception to this is with kittens and puppies that are too young to be fixed or given specific vaccines. If you adopt a puppy or kitten from the Oswego Animal Shelter, you have the option of obtaining a spay/neuter certificate from Paws Across Oswego County.
