Ulster County SPCA's Adoption Process

1. Visit the Facility and Find a Pet

Same day adoption only. We do not accept holds for adoptions from online sites. We require adopters to come in and meet the animal first.

2. Submit Application

3. Interview

4. Approve Application

5. Sign Adoption Contract

6. Pay Fee

7. Take the Pet Home

All our animals available for adoption have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped, as well as seen by our resident veterinarian. Same day adoption only.

About Ulster County SPCA

The UCSPCA is a private, nonprofit organization whose mission is to prevent cruelty to animals by providing temporary shelter and finding adoptive homes for homeless, abused and neglected animals; conducting cruelty investigations; eliminating the crisis of homeless animals by providing low-cost spay/neuter services for cats and by spaying or neutering all animals offered for adoption; providing humane education; and by working to improve laws to end animal cruelty.
