Adoption Guidelines
All adoption placements are on a first-come, first-reserved basis.
~ make an appointment to see the dog at the next "meet & greet" event
~ complete an application
~ when adopting to families, children must be at least 8 years old
~ schedule a home visit and leave a deposit toward the adoption fee
~ home visit with greyhound - all household members including animals must be present during home visit
~ prefer placement travel within 70 mile radius of Longwood, Florida
~ will work through other adoption groups for placement outside of the Central Florida area
~ sign adoption contract
~ the current adoption fee is $240 (as of 1/14/06)
Adopting a friend
Greyhounds are adopted by application only. Adopting families must agree to keep the dog as an indoor pet. Greyhound Ranch Adoptions, Inc. is committed to each dog in the program for its entire life; therefore, if there is ever a need to give up your greyhound, it must be returned to our group.
You may select a greyhound from the dogs available in our program or identify the characteristics of the dog you want and we will search through our network of adoption groups for an ideal match. A representative will contact you to schedule a home visit with the greyhound you have selected. And, an adoption contract will be completed at the time of placement.
