Shelter FAQs

The Perry County Animal Shelter, Inc. is a state of the art privately owned shelter located in Perry County, Indiana. We accept surrenders from Perry County only, but allow adoptions from anywhere. The Board of Directors took control of the facility on July 1, 2004 & has made vast improvements since then, including the construction of a new facility.

Our new facility has 12 isolation kennels and 12 adoption kennels. We have separate isolation for kittens, cats, and puppies. The facility was designed for maximum disease control, including 3 separate heating, cooling, and ventilation zones between the isolation and adoption areas. Strict protocols are implemented to prevent spread of any disease.
We ONLY accept canines and felines from Perry County residences. However, we adopt to families/individuals in other cities and states.
