Take 2 Rescue's adoption process

Additional adoption info

Thank you for adopting a homeless pet! Anytime one pet is adopted from us, it opens up a place for us to save another.

The first step in our adoption process is to submit an adoption application either by mail or by filling out our online form - Please email for form as the online version is not yet completed. Please be honest in your answers to help ensure the adoption is a good fit for both the pet AND for you.

Once your application is reviewed and approved, we will set up a visitation appointment for you to come meet the critter you are interested in to see if it may be the right pet for you.

The next step is a home visit from us and the pet you are interested in. This will give you and the dog you're interested in a chance to interact in your environtment, with the rest of the family, any other pets, etc.

Lastly, there is an adoption contract to be completed. This basically says that you will properly care for and love your new pet and that if for any reason there comes a time when you can no longer keep it, it will be returned to Take 2 Rescue. We don't want to see any of our babies ever in a kill shelter again.

The adoption fee is $200. The fees are strictly to help with vet expenses incurred for taking care of the animals.

Adopt a Pet is the easiest way for you to search for a new pet in New Philadelphia, OH.

Support adoption and rescue. Why go to a dog breeder, cat breeder or pet store to buy a dog or buy a cat when you can adopt?

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life.

What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder?

When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.

So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
