WHO WE ARE

The Scott County Humane Society, a non-profit community in Scott County, KY is united in a mission to ensure humane care and conditions for companion animals through spay/neuter, humane awareness education, and responsible pet adoption and ownership.

For more information about Scott County Humane Society, call 502-863-3279 or visit http://sc4paws.org/

The Scott County Humane Society Center is located in the Indian Acres Shopping Center at 751 Slone Drive, Suite 13 in Georgetown, KY 40324. At the center we provide information about our spay/neuter and education programs, volunteering opportunities, and spay/neuter vouchers to qualifying residents.
The center also houses some foster kitties through the year.
Our hours are: Monday through Friday, 12pm to 5:30pm
We are closed on Saturday and Sunday. However, adoptions are often done on the weekend and evenings by appointment (with an approved application)

We adopt to homes everywhere in the United States. If you will be requiring transport to receive your adopted pet, please check into services and costs before applying. We do not provide any transport services and do not ship pets.

Additional adoption info

A cat or kitten only leaves its foster home ONCE an adoption application has been approved. Each is spayed/neutered and has completed all required vetting per our protocols, prior to going to it's adoptive home.

SCHS vetting for foster cats and kittens includes: spay/neuter, current on shots, FeLuk/FIV test neg. (FeLuk test neg. only for kittens under 5 months of age), Rabies vaccination (cats over 6-months of age), Frontline and/or Revolution treatment, and HomeAgain Microchip. You get all the vet records for your new family member, and a starter bag of food too!
