Areas Ohio Cattle Dog Rescue Team Serves

We rescue ACD's from Ohio and surrounding states. We welcome adopters from anywhere as long as the approved adopter travels to our foster dogs location.

Ohio Cattle Dog Rescue Team's Adoption Process

We request all potential adopters start the process by filling out an application, please email OCDRT at info@ocdrescueteam.org for an application. We check references, do a phone interview, have a home visit, and set up a meeting to meet the foster dog. Our adoption fee is $250 which helps to cover spaying or neutering, all appropriate vaccines, de-wormings, heartworm & tick borne disease testing, micro-chip, and other necessary medical needs. Thank you for considering a foster of ours!

About Ohio Cattle Dog Rescue Team

Ohio Cattle Dog Rescue Team is an all volunteer group who may be a newly formed, however this Team has many combined years working together in Rescue. The Founders of OCDRT have been active in ACD Rescue since 2003 along with backgrounds in the animal control fields since 2004, business ownership fields, & all have been through the adoption process with other Rescues.
OCDRT has filed with the Ohio Department of Agriculture & is a State of Ohio verified 501(c)3 Organization. If you would like to make a donation please email info@OCDRescueteam.org for details on helping with OCDRT's food and / or vet expenses. OCDRT appreciates your support!

We welcome you to join us in our mission of helping the homeless ACD's find their right forever home & with our continued support before & after adoption, we want to make sure our foster ACD's know "You'll Never Walk Alone".

Ohio Cattle Dog Rescue Team's foster dogs live in our homes with us and are treated like one of our own. While with us they learn housebreaking, crate training, general obedience, leash skills, house manners, socialization with adults, children, & multiple dogs, cats, traveling in a vehicle, and a few other things depending on the foster dog. Each foster dog continues their socialization with humans & other dogs. All our fosters are completely vetted and evaluated for a minimum of 2-3 weeks to learn their likes/dislikes and what type of home they need, while at a primary foster home. Once their 2-3 week evaluation has passed, if they are not adopted & there is a compatible foster home open, OCDRT will transfer a foster to make room for a new ACD to enter our program. All foster homes must be within a 1.5 hour drive of our Board Members in Creston & Columbus.

Come Meet Ohio Cattle Dog Rescue Team's Pets
