Rescue FAQs

Agape has been a strong force in the community since it was started in June of 2004. The group has held youth education programs, low-income spay/neuter operations, and works hard to educate the public on a daily basis. They also help displaced animals every day. With the help of several volunteers, we are able to foster pets in a safe and happy home until they are placed in their “forever” homes. We offer affordable, equitable, accessible training programs throughout the community, rescue animals from abusive or neglectful situations, provide routine Veterinarian attention and pay for advanced medical attention, such as surgery and medicines.
We service Tennessee and surrounding states.

Additional adoption info

To inquire about adopting a dog, please fill out an application. We do make visits to the adopters home prior to approval. We ask for your current vet information as a reference and, upon adoption, there is a contract that must be signed . Our adoption fee for most adult dogs is $300. The puppy adoption fee is $400 which includes a state regulated $25 refundable fee that is reimbursed after the dog has been spayed or neutered. Another $25 will be reimbursed after your dog graduates an obedience training class post adoption. On average, we spend $350 or more per dog while they are in foster care. to offset the cost of shots, heartworm checks /treatment , spay/neuters, heartworm preventative, and frontline for each animal. All of our animals are spayed or neutered prior to placement. Please spay or neuter your furry friend, too!
