The Fayette County Humane Society (FCHS), staffed entirely by volunteers, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization supported entirely by individual and corporate donations. Because we do not have a shelter, all of the animals we rescue live in temporary foster homes until they are adopted. We believe that all companion pets have intrinsic value and should be treated with the reverence and care they deserve.

Adoption steps

  1. Submit Application
    1. Submit an application for the specific dog or cat will speed the process.
  2. Approve Application
    1. Our Applications Team will review and approve applications.
  3. Sign Adoption Contract
    1. Once approved and you agree the pet is right for you, sign the contract, pay the adoption fee and take your new family member home!
