Rescue FAQs

The Animal Refuge Center (ARC) of Fort Myers is a not for profit animal welfare society dedicated to stopping the escalating cost to impound, care for, kill and dispose of dogs and cats dying for no reason other than having been born. ARC is helping to cut the large numbers of homeless animals which eventually cuts the costs to taxpayers, which to date has reached over half a million dollars a year. ARC is a non-euthanasia organization. Once we accept an animal for adoption, IT WILL NOT BE DESTROYED TO MAKE ROOM FOR ANOTHER. We are here to help the unwanted and neglected animals who now face certain death.
We serve North Fort Myers, South Fort Myers, Cape Coral and surrounding towns in Lee County, Collier County, Charlotte counties.

Additional adoption info

ARC is open to the public from 10am to 3 pm Wednesday through Sunday, except major holidays. The shelter is at 18011 Old Bayshore Road, North Fort Myers, near Lee Civic Center. Appointments necessary to visit/adopt. Visit our website for instructions. www.AnimalRefugeCenter.com
