Adoption steps
- Visit the Facility and Find a Pet
- First visit our website, www.homewardpet.org, to see all available pets. There, set an appt to visit the shelter or apply for fostered pets.
- Interview
- For fostered pets only, if your application is first in line, we'll schedule time for you to speak with an Adoption Specialist.
- Meet the Pet
- During your visit, the Adoption Specialist can introduce you to any of our available animals. Foster animals will be brought to the shelter.
- Take the Pet Home
- If it's a match when you meet, you'll sign our adoption contract, pay an adoption fee and take your new friend home!

Homeward Pet Adoption Center does adoptions by appointment. Please visit www.homewardpet.org to view all of our Available animals and make an appointment.
For pets noted to be in foster, you'll instead fill out an application in their profile. You'll be emailed a link to speak by phone with an Adoption Specialist.
We will share with you all the information we have regarding an animal's history, health and behavior, and work with you to make a great match for your family.
