We only accept animals from Cherokee County, Ga residents but we adopt to any location.

Cherokee County Animal Shelter's Adoption Process

1. Visit the Facility and Find a Pet

Please look on this site at the pets available. This is updated automatically with our database. The pets shown are accurate within hours.

2. Sign Adoption Contract

We do not have applications our adoptions are first come, first serve.

3. Take the Pet Home

All available pets are spay/neutered and ready to go home immediately.

$100 Adoption Fee

Our adoption fee includes Spay/Neuter, heartworm/leukemia testing, initial vaccinations, deworming, flea preventive, micro chip, sample bag of food and various other services.

About Cherokee County Animal Shelter

The Cherokee County Animal Shelter is a "full service" operation. We take in animals that are brought in by Cherokee County Animal Control officers, animals owned by citizens of Cherokee County and unwanted strays found in Cherokee County. The Cherokee County Animal Shelter also adopts animals out to the public.
