The Mercer Humane Society, founded over 50 years ago, is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization serving Mercer County, Kentucky.
Our goal is to stop the overpopulation of community cats in Mercer County. This begins with community education and assistance to have community cats spayed and neutered.

Adoption steps
- Visit the Facility and Find a PetSelect your best friend in our office or online. Contact us from our website, via email, or by phone with any questions.
- Submit ApplicationOur Adoption Application is available in our office or online at mercerhumaneky.com/adopt
- InterviewOur board will review your application, check your references, and get back to you as soon as possible/
- Approve ApplicationIf your application is approved by the board, we'll set up an adoption appointment. This is when you'll sign the adoption contract.
- Pay FeeOur adoption fees are reasonably priced at $65 for cats and $125 for dogs. This includes spay/neuter, preliminary vaccines, and microchip.
