Pet Adoption Fund's Adoption Process

1. Submit Application

If you see a pet on our website that you are interested in, please email us at adopt@petadoptionfund.org for an application.

2. Approve Application

If your application is approved for adoption, you will then be contacted to set up a meet & greet with the pet.

3. Meet the Pet

Bring the entire family, including your current dog (altered dogs only.)

4. Sign Adoption Contract

If you do find a pet you like, and if you are a great match for each other, an adoption contract will need to be signed, pending home visit.

5. Home Check

We visit the home to insure that the environment is safe for the new pet.

6. Pay Fee

The adoption fee will be discussed at the time of the meet & greet, and it's tax deductible.

7. Take the Pet Home

Once the home check is approved and the adoption fee is paid, your new pet will be bathed and ready to go, wearing a collar and PAF tags.

Adoption fees vary by age, size and breed. All applications are subject to approval. Home checks are conducted. You must be over 21 years of age, and with a valid California Driver's License or a California ID Card. All our pets are spayed or neutered, micro-chipped and vaccinated. The return policy will be discussed at the time of adoption.

About Pet Adoption Fund

Pet Adoption Fund is an all breed, 501 (C) (3), Non-Profit, No-Kill Dog & Cat rescue and adoption organization founded in 1983, and it is located in the city of Canoga Park, Los Angeles county, CA. We are staffed primarily by volunteers, and exist solely on donations. Our mission is to rescue, shelter, and find loving permanent homes for the many wonderful, yet previously abandoned, neglected or abused companion animals. Since our inception in 1983, we have cared for, rehabilitated, and found responsible and happy homes for the thousands of pets who have come through our doors.
