BARKS's Adoption Process

1. Submit Application

2. Meet the Pet

3. Sign Adoption Contract

After which, the pet would go to your home for its trial adoption period - usually 2 weeks for cats and 4 weeks for dogs.

Our Adoption Policy
BARKS has many wonderful pets available for adoption. All our pets are spayed and neutered and have a current rabies and distemper vaccine. In addition, all cats are tested for feline aids and feline leukemia and all dogs are heartworm tested.

Please see our website, www.barksinc.com, for our adoption fees.

About BARKS

BARKS (Byram Animal Rescue Kindness Squad) is a non-profit, volunteer-based animal rescue organization founded in 1973 to provide veterinary care, housing and permanent placement of stray and abandoned cats and dogs.

Come Meet BARKS's Pets

BARKS works with the PetSmart of Newton, NJ, where several adoptable cats can be seen during business hours. We also have adoption events nearly every Saturday at the Newton PetSmart from 11am-3pm, and on the first Saturday of each month at Pet Goods of Roxbury, 25 Commerce Blvd, Succasunna, NJ.
