Additional adoption info
All our animals are vaccinated, tested for Leukemia and FIV (Cats), or tested for Heartworm and put on Preventive medication (Dogs), treated for parasites and any ailments and are spayed or neutered and microchipped. We charge $190 adoption fee to help cover some of these costs, which adoption fee is refundable should the animal not work out during an initial trial period of three weeks. Kittens, if young may still need one or two more booster vaccines in order to complete their vaccination schedule, which would be the new "parent's" responsibility. We will always take back any of our adopted animals should the need arise to surrender them at any time due to whatever reasons, however, the adoption fee is not refundable after the initial trial period unless agreed upon by the C.A.R.E. representative. This is usually contingent upon there being issues with the animal that C.A.R.E. has been apprised of and despite best efforts could not be resolved, which is seldom the case, particularly with kittens. Certainly we encourage people to contact us with any issues or concerns they may have in regards to the animals they adopted from us, so to offer suggestions and possible problem resolution. If the lines of communication are not kept open we obviously cannot be of help for problems we were unaware of.
We request veterinary references where possible, and interview people by phone prior to meeting with them and introducing them to some of our friends needing homes. We do adoptions by appointment as we do not have a shelter and the animals are being fostered in homes. Should you wish more information or wish to pursue this further you may contact us via email at info@care-ca.org and leave us your phone number so we may reach you. Please be patient, we try to return calls as soon as we can, but we all have jobs and limited time as we are calso caring for large numbers of animals.
